The Red Rooster Inn was acquired by Chick Schickling and his wife Bernie in 1983. Just a little bar with a few booths and a tiny little kitchen. Chick was an operating engineer for local 542 which kept him busy most of the time. Bernie took care of the day to day operations of the busy little bar. An opportunity came along in 2003 to expand our business. Chick and Bernie took the leap to expand, because that's how they roll, by taking chances. Chick was due to retire and he was so excited to spend time with his family and our new project. He got the ball rolling, spending countless hours planning and designing. We will never forget the day we all walked into the big kitchen and almost fainted by the mess the previous tenents left. The whole family worked together to get this new venture off and running. Sadly, in 2004 Chick was diagnosed with cancer and passed away April 5, 2005. He is missed every day. He had a smile that would light up the room. We had to learn to run this business without him, and we did. We do it for him every day, he is there watching over us and guides us through some pretty tough times. He is our incentive every day. If we are making a new soup or entree, we always say "Chick would love this!! "
So here we are, seven years later. Who would have thought this little bar could be what is is today. It is hard work and dedication to your craft. It is being consistent and going the extra mile for your customers. Our customers are our family. We have a staff that works so hard for us,we are truly blessed to have them with us. So come be part of our family, we love to meet new people, and we love to hear all the wonderful compliments of our delicious homemade foods.
